Program Details: How In-A-Box Works

If you are an Oregon educator:

Boxes are available for loan to educators within the state of Oregon. To request one, read about the different boxes to select the one you want. Then, reserve your box either by completing our online request form or by contacting the In-A-Box education director.

When scheduling your box loan, we make every effort to have a local scientist ("ambassador") visit your classroom as well, if requested, to share with your students about his or her career in science.

If you are outside Oregon:

Boxes are not currently available for loan outside the state of Oregon. You can, however, purchase a box or consult with us to create your own. Please see our flyer on purchase options and contact Education Director Shera Felde for further information.

What do we ask of teachers who borrow the boxes?

• Please have students complete short pre- and post-surveys.
• Please complete teacher feedback surveys.
• Please return all contents on the enclosed check-off sheet to the box and notify AHEC personnel of any broken or missing parts.
• Please share our box program with your colleagues.
